“Mee Abolee” is co-owned by Shweta and her childhood friend from the far suburbs of Mumbai. They both moved to the US to pursue higher studies and advanced careers.

Being two immigrant women in a foreign land, the inaccessibility to Indian prints and fabrics were deeply felt by both of us. In a random catch-up phone call one afternoon, after a very involved conversation, we realized our mutual and subconscious desire to bring Indian handlooms to the western world. With lots of brainstorming, seeking advice from industry experts, continued learning and persevered faith, “Mee Abolee” was formed. 

Our vision is to present Indian natural fabrics in modern, mindful and practical designs. We are able to bring our vision to life with the support from our best team of designers and artisans in India.
